Darrell J. Sekin, Jr.
Over the past 40 years, Darrell J. Sekin Jr. has earned a reputation as a small business pioneer and one of America’s most respected customs brokers. He began his industry career in the mid-1960s at the customs brokerage firm his father had founded, and then in 1985 Darrell launched his own Dallas/Fort Worth-based firm. Under his guidance, DJS International Services has grown into one the southwest’s leading international freight forwarding, customs brokerage and NVOCC firms. As president and chief executive officer of DJS International Services, Darrell employs a staff of 20 import, export, logistics, and support personnel. He has over 40 years of success in the customs brokerage and freight forwarding industry. Darrell is a licensed Customshouse Broker, and also holds the Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation. He has been an active member of the National Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association of America (NCBFAA) for many years, and was elected to serve as Secretary of the National Organization in March 2006. He has also served as co-chairman of NCBFAA’s Ocean Carrier Best Practices Subcommittee and is a long-standing member of the Customs Committee. Through his notable involvement, Darrell has been at the forefront of many changes in the industry, and is highly regarded as a trusted advocate for the customs brokerage and importing communities alike.
Darrell has previously served as president of the Houston Customs Brokers Association and the North Texas Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association.
Darrell earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from LeTourneau University. |

David Meyer Chief Operating Officer |
David Meyer
While studying at Texas Christian University, David met Darrell’s youngest daughter, Melissa in 1995. Even before officially joining the family when they married in 1998, David began earning his stripes at DJS in 1997, working part-time while he completed his degree and finished out a successful college baseball career. Under the tutelage of Darrell, David acquired industry knowledge quickly, and his eagerness to learn all aspects of the business was exceeded only by his innate ability to do so with great success. With a particular gift for international business, David also added a fresh perspective and keen management insight to the company.
David is a licensed Customshouse Broker, and also holds the CCS designation. He has been actively involved with NCBFAA, and has served as vice president of the North Texas Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association.
David frequently travels internationally, visiting with our agent partners to maintain close working relationships, as well as touring foreign ports, and overseas factories and suppliers of our clients.
Having distinguished himself as an effective leader, both within DJS and within the industry as a whole, David earned the position of Chief Operating Officer at DJS International in 2005, and continues to share his valuable industry expertise, outstanding leadership skills, and visionary guidance with DJS, its customers, and trade partners.
David earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Texas Christian University. |
